The Ambassadors for Peace and Justice has presented National Excellence Award to the Municipal Chief Executive Officer of Kwahu South Assembly in the Eastern Region, Emmanuel Atta Ofori Snr, for being the best performing Municipal Chief Executive for 2019/2020.
The CEO of the Award Scheme, Mohammed Bashir Tijani, noted in the citation that the MCE’s zeal to develop his Municipality and improve on the well-being of his constituents was remarkable which makes his leadership outstanding.
In his acceptance speech, the MCE thanked the Directors of Peace and Justice Foundation for the recognition and also thanked Hon. Assembly, members, chiefs, and Staff of the Assembly for their unwavering support.
The said projects, according to the MCE could be attested to by the Mpraeso people.
He said his tenure saw to the provision of farming inputs such as high-quality seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides e, etc. to support the activities of farmers in the 26 electoral areas within the Municipality.
Touching on roads, he disclosed only 10 out of the 26 electoral areas have their roads tarred at the moment, and assured plans are underway to improve theroad network in the area.
The MCE said after the Assembly was elevated from the district to the municipal status, a lot is being done to improve on electricity in the area.
Emmanuel Atta Ofori expressed his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo for giving him the mandate to serve in his government.
He also thanked the Assembly members, chiefs, and stakeholders of fore confidence they reposed in him.
Emmanuel Atta Ofori Snr, also promised he will do extra if the President reappoints him in his second term.
