Atwima Mponua Concerned Citizens Youth Association (AMCCYA) in the Atwima Mponua Constituency of the Ashanti Region, has called the government not to maintain their District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. William Yaw Darko in office again because he is a total failure in developmental projects in the area and also don’t respect anybody.
According to the president of the Atwima Mponua Concerned citizens Youth Association (AMCCYA) Mr. Samuel Mensah, the DCE has proved to the entire citizens of the constituency since he assumed office and has therefore called on the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not even try to maintain Hon. William Yaw Darko.
They said, he doesn’t deserve a second chance because he is not a respectful, humble especially towards the Assembly Members, Chiefs and Elders as well as the youths in the constituency.
“We the members of the Atwima Mponua Concerned Citizens Youth Association (AMCCYA), has pleaded with the entire New Patriotic Party (NPP) national executives headed by Mr. Freddy Blay and the Ashanti regional executives which also headed by Mr. Bernard Antwi Bosiakoh ever try to maintain Honourable William Yaw Darko in this wonderful second term of office,” they said.
According to them the DCE doesn’t listening to the needs of the people in the area and does not have a single project to his credit.
The group said it has observed the poor road network, lack of health centers, and lack of security, lack of market square and lack of education infrastructure in the area.
“We again urging all the national, regional, constituency executive and the assembly members to select a respectful, humbly and obedient with a high serving member in the constituency but not their selfish interest, we the concerned citizen youth are serious awake like elephant. In 2012 our member of parliament Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah won the parliamentary election with 33,144 votes represent 57.90% against Dr. Kwaku Agyeman Mensah with 23,640 votes which also represent 41.40% , in 2016 Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah won the parliamentary election 33,723 votes which represent 59.14% against Mr. Stephen Yeboah with 22,450 which also represent 39.37% but this year 2020 Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah won the parliamentary election with 32,504 votes which represent 49.9% while his opponent Mr. Stephen Yeboah got 29,892 which represent 45.24%.”
“The reason why Honourable Isaac Kwame Asiamah won the Parliamentary election with less than 3,000 votes is the cause of Hon. William Yaw Darko the DCE of Atwima Mponua District, we believe that with what he has done within these few years, he doesn’t deserve anymore second chance. We therefore appeal to the president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo not to make any attempt to confirm Hon. William Yaw Darko to continue to serve the district in his second term as Atwima Mponua District Chief Executive (DCE) because he doesn’t have any leadership skills,” they stated.
