Africa Union Agenda 2063 Ambassadorial Assembly has appointed Bishop Samuel Ben Owusu as the Special envoy to Ghana.
Bishop Samuel Owusu, a passionate minister of the gospel, has embarked on an extraordinary journey to make a difference beyond the confines of the pulpit.
With a strong conviction that his calling extends far beyond Sunday sermons, Bishop Owusu has been driven to explore ways to impact society and influence policy.
Rev. Owusu’s story is one of determination and self-discovery. Without formal education, he taught himself to write and study, often visiting the British Library to expand his knowledge. This thirst for learning led him to Bible school and eventually, to a life of ministry.
However, Bishop Owusu soon realized that there was more to his calling than just preaching. He saw an opportunity to leverage his platform to drive meaningful change in society, beyond the walls of the church. His research revealed that the early missionaries who brought Christianity to Ghana also introduced education, industrialization, and civilization.
Bishop Owusu believes that the church has strayed from its core mandate of being a catalyst for societal transformation. Instead of merely preaching to congregations, he advocates for a more proactive approach, where ministers and Christians take on leadership roles in governance and policy-making.
Bishop Owusu’s journey has taken him to the United Nations, where he observed the absence of Christian leaders in decision-making positions. He argues that Christians should be actively engaged in shaping policies that impact society, rather than being confined to the pulpit.
Through his experiences, the Minister has developed a vision for a more impactful ministry, one that extends beyond the church walls to influence policy, governance, and societal development. His story serves as an inspiration to others, highlighting the potential for ministers and Christians to make a meaningful difference in the world.
He promised to propagate and promote the Agenda 2063 and also ensure the vision of having and integrated continent is achieved.
