Dear Sir,
RE: DESPITE GOVERNMENT BAN, LAND GUARDS REFUSE TO VACATE EAST LEGON LANDS- AKWAANYE, MAWREHENE’S GOONS DEMOLISH WALLS, BEAT UP SECURITY PERSONNEL, IS HE TOO HOT FOR POLICE TO ARREST?
We write as Solicitors for Nana Ofori Antwi-Boasiako and have the instructions of our Client to write to you in response to your publication dated 28th August, 2024. (Vol. 16, No 128 on the above subject. The front page of the said publication had the picture of our Client under the said headline.
On page 3 of the said publication with the above headline, you stated that, “Residents of East Legon in the Accra Metropolitan district are beside themselves with rage over the activities of two people…Nana Antwi Boasiako, the man with many aliases: Incantation, ‘Akwaanye’ an Akan word loosely translated in English as ‘the guy is bad’…”. You further published that our Client is “…. living up to his nicknames; allegedly with some police backing and pampering, fronts land issues with his strings in the police service against anyone who crosses him. (Dossier on his from Darkoman soon).”
You also published that our Client, in cohoots with another person “surreptitiously organized thugs with the involvement of the police to beat up security personnel of Lions security…”
Our Client denies all the allegations published against him. Our Client is a law-abiding citizen and has neither been engaged in or found by any court of competent jurisdiction to have dishonestly defrauded any person relative to land transactions. The said defamatory publication by your newspaper was circulated to the general public ostensibly to tarnish his hard-won reputation and lower his esteem before right-thinking members of society. Our Client has received calls from family members and business associates expressing concerns
about the impact of your false and defamatory comments.
We, therefore, have the instructions of our Client to demand that you retract the said publication and also render an unqualified apology to our Client within seven (7) days of your receipt of this letter. Your retraction and apology must receive the same prominence on the front page of your newspaper within the stipulated time. Should you default in obliging the intimations contained in the said letter, we will not hesitate to commence legal proceedings against you without further notice to you.
Please be advised accordingly.
Yours faithfully,
BOBBY BANSON, ESQ.

Editor’s note:
The New Crusading GUIDE is not and would never be in the business of defaming anyone. Therefore, to the extent that Nana Ofori Antwi-Boasiako deems portions of our story defamatory to his hard-earned reputation, we are deeply sorry. Nana Ofori Antwi-Boasiako can be rest assured that our publication was never actuated by any malice.
In view of that, the portions lawyer Bobby Banson complains about are retracted and apologised for unreservedly.
However, facts are sacrosanct.
We stand by the facts as were contained in the publication which lawyer Bobby Banson, Esq. did not to comment on and are ready to adduce evidence, including police report, to the fact that the incidents narrated in the publication did happen.
