Senior Advisor to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Anthony Karbo, says claims that the former Vice President of Ghana hurt him.
According to him, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has never been a stranger in the New Patriotic Party.
He argues that the New Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful had always had his heart and soul with the NPP.
Karbo mentioned that he was one of the strongest advocates for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to be made running mate, and therefore, it hurts him when people who do not know the man spew words.
“I advocated strongly for him, and I wasn’t the only one. For me, he was never a stranger; his heart and his soul were in the New Patriotic Party and with the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition. I knew that from the start, and it was difficult to be convinced about all these other stories.
On when people say Dr Bawumia is an alien in the NPP, Karbo retorted, “it hurts me, it really hurt me when I hear that story, and many of the people who speak about it don’t know a thing about it, they have no knowledge of him.
They just found somebody who appeared in the political spacce and they could safely conclude. There are many people who believe in our tradition and they are not all picketing in the faces of the media or they are not out there. The kind of work people do in this party it is not all, just about 20% end up in the media. There’s a lot of people who support this tradition that you don’t them,” he told Citi TV’s Umaru Sanda in an interview.
