Some senior Pastors of the Pastoral Council of the Christian Divine Church, have sued the
chairman of the church, Apostle Ebenezer Boahen and secured a court order to restrain
him from holding and celebrating the 65 th anniversary of the Church at its headquarters.
They have also sued the Vice chairman of the church, Augustine Agyeman, and the Acting
General secretary, Pastor Samuel Awuah.
According to the plaintiffs, the current interim administrative committee of the Christian Divine
Church does not have the mandate under the church’s 2005 constitution to hold any meeting with
the intention of forming a general council, working committee, executive council, or any other
committee of the church.

Counsel for the plaintiffs, Lawyer George Abbottah, in a statement requested the court to grant
them substituted service since all attempts by the court bailiffs to serve the three respondents had
been unsuccessful. He claimed that the respondents had deliberately refused to avail themselves
to be served with the court summons.
However, one Kweku Kyere from Accra who claimed to be a friend of the court, expressed
interest in the case and appealed to Her Ladyship to grant him an audience. In his statement in
court, he mentioned that the respondents are currently seeking spiritual intervention ahead of the
program hence their inability to be present in court , but assured that the respondents would be
available to receive the surmons.
The presiding judge, Her Ladyship Mercy Adjei Kottei, ruled as follows:
"Upon reading the affidavit of Rev. Francis Baidoo of Huni Valley, the 1st Plaintiff/Applicant
herein, sworn to and filed on the 21st day of May, 2024, in support of Motion Ex-parte for
Substituted Service, and upon hearing Mr. George Agotta holding brief for Mr. Samuel
Agbottah, counsel for and on behalf of the Plaintiffs/Applicants herein:
It is hereby ordered that the Writ of Summons, Statement of Claim, Motion for Interlocutory
Injunction, and a copy of this Order be served on the Defendants by posting copies at the
following places:
Notice Board of the High Court, Tarkwa
Notice Board of the Christian Divine Church, Headquarters, Tarkwa
Notice Board of the Christian Divine Church, Prestea Branch.
Postings shall remain for 14 days.
Given under my hand and the seal of the High Court."
