Edmund Kyei, the National Communication team member and 1st Vice Chairman of the Asokwa Constituency of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has added his voice to the #FixTheCountry tirade by some Ghanaians.
Reacting to the recent tirade by Ghanaians against the government on social media for citing economic hardship, he entreated Ghanaians to cast their minds back to how the President made stride in his first term of office.
Mr. Kyei opined the deadly coronavirus pandemic has caused a lot of havoc worldwide and is of the view a chunk of countries are into recess with the United State of America no exception.
He has therefore called on Ghanaians to exercise patience and is optimistic the President can turn things around.
“First of all, I believe that we should look at 2017 to 2020 on how the President, Nana Akufo-Addo pushed things in for the betterment of the country. We all know about coronavirus that changes as variant and it has cost a lot of havoc all around the world and everyone has gone on recession worldwide not even the USA. Countries like Holland, England went into lockdown not less than three months which affected their work”
“The disease has affected everyone and we know all of us are facing this problem so even if India were assisting us previously they can be doing it anymore because of effect of the virus. So I will plead with Ghanaians to exercise patience because it is not the President wish for us to struggle.”
“He is seriously working but many do not understand the current situation. The coronavirus impact and the mess it has caused is not something small. So we should all have patience for the year to end and see what happens as to whether we were lying with our promises or not because he is only four months into office now in the second term.”
He added that, had it not being the deadly virus things wouldn’t have been like this and has asked those behind the tirades to be calm.
