Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has urged the newly inaugurated Ministerial Oversight Committee for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup campaign to prioritize visa arrangements for Ghanaian fans who wish to travel and back the Black Stars.
Speaking at the committee’s inauguration on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, Mr. Debrah disclosed that the U.S. Embassy has already expressed readiness to support visa processing for Ghanaian supporters ahead of the tournament, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“Visa facilitation is very important. Just last Saturday at a Ghana–American Chamber of Commerce programme, the American Embassy confirmed they will work to ensure as many Ghanaians as possible attend to support our national team,” he noted.
He encouraged the Committee to follow up on these assurances and maintain close engagement with the Embassy to ensure a smooth process.
“We expect your Committee to make time and engage the appropriate officials so Ghanaians can have the opportunity to travel and cheer the Black Stars
,” he added.
