Barely 24 hours after ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, together with his investigative firm, Tiger Eye PI and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), publicly premiered his latest investigative piece which documents indiscriminate bribery and corruption in football that shook the foundation of the games authority, Government has reacted that it is taking steps to dissolve the Ghana Football Association.
Government has also “referred the matter and all the officials involved to the security agencies for appropriate action”.
Communication Minister, Mustapha Hamid, in a press release yesterday indicated that it would communicate its decision to the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) and the Fedration of International Football Associations (FIFA)
Sports Minister Isaac Asiama also confirmed the dissolution and said all its officers could no longer carry themselves as FA officials saying “It has been dissolved with immediate effect”, he told Joy News’ Evans Mensah on Newsnight last night.
“When we say the FA is dissolved it means all functions, all activities are all dissolved”, he said and mentioned the suspension of the Premier League.
