One of the Three Royal Ruling Houses of the Ga Paramount Stool, the Abola Piam Royal Ruling House is defending its turn to take over the Kingship of the Ga State, stressing that since 2005, the Ruling House had nominated a candidate to fill that position.
In a statement issued by the Heads of the Abola Piam Royal Ruling House, any attempt by people to sidestep the existing protocol to install another person will spell doom for the Ga State.
According to them, Nii Kudza Okai Tackie who hails from Abola Piam We was duly nominated and received the consent of the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase with Nii Tetteh Kwei as the Kingmaker.
They averred that there have been attempts however, on the part of the Kingmaker, Nii Tetteh Kwei to distort the rules and customs of the Ga State and the Ga People by installing one Dr Kelvin Tackie who did not hail from Abola Piam We.
The Heads of the Abola Piam Royal Ruling House also mentioned that “Nii Tetteh Kwei is repeating what he planned for late Nii Joe Blankson to no avail.”
They mentioned that all the family members including elders of Abola Piam We including the youth of the Ga State have agreed that the Dzasetse, Nii Tetteh Kwei II and his accredited and principal elders have not done the “Proper thing by nominating Kelvin Tackie as the next Ga Mantse for the Ga Paramount Stool. What was orchestrated and planned during late Nii Joe Blankson’s life time is repeating itself. We therefore urge all Ga people to wake up against anything they consider as a taboo.”
They noted that the constant and regular deliberate intention of Teiko Tsuru We Royal Ruling House to deny Abola Piam We the right to succeed the throne is becoming obvious by the day, and that every efforts made by Abola Piam We to remind the Ga Paramount Stool Dzase tse and his accredited and principal members has fallen on deaf ears.
They said, the Dzasetse is very aware of the fact that Nii Kudza Okai Tackie has been nominated to become the next Ga Mantse but decided to act contrary to the custom of the Ga State.
According to Abola Piam We Royal Ruling House, Nii Kudza Okai Tackie is the rightful heir to the throne and hence, the game being played by Dr Kelvin Tackie and Nii Tetteh Kwei II will not be countenanced anymore.
The family hence, called on the President His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo to intervene and allow peace to prevail in the Ga State.
