The Paramount Chief of Sempe Traditional Area of the Ga State, Nii Adotey Otinto II, has called on all citizens of Ga-Dangbe communities to duly recognize the chieftaincy status of the traditionally and customarily consecrated Paramount Chief of Ga State, His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, who generally succeeds the late substantive Ga Mantse, Nii Sosi Amugi II.
Nii Adotey Otinto II, who doubles as the Manklalo of the Ga State made the foregoing call when he was addressing the gathering to perform the official traditions and customs to formally accept and introduce King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II into the Ga Traditional Council as the Ga Mantse and the President of the Council.
The induction of King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II into fold of the Council has ended the long-standing chieftaincy battle of who is the rightful and legitimate person to ascend the Ga Mantse Royal Black Stool of the Ga State after the death of the substantive Ga Mantse, Nii Sosi Amugi II.
The latest development has clarified his status as the highly recognized Ga Mantse and the President of the Council.
The development generally attests to the fact that King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II has officially assumed his chieftaincy leadership affair roles and duties to help drive socio-economic development agenda of the people in the Ga State.
The colourful ceremony attracted dignitaries from far and near including some Chiefs and Queen mothers from the various traditional councils in the Ga State.
The occasion was characterised by drumming, dancing and singing of traditional songs as well as the display of rich Ga culture and tradition amidst adherence to protocols of social distancing.
Speaking further, Nii Adotey Otinto II who is the member of the Ga Traditional Council And speaking on behalf of the membership of the Ga Traditional Council, pledged his support for the new Ga Mantse and urged him to be firm whilst steering the affairs of the Ga state.
He stated that he was involved in the enstoolment of Nii Adama Latse but was not aware there was a case in court and also was not a member of the Ga Traditional Council as at the time.
“I supported the enstoolment of Nii Adama Latse as Ga Mantse because I did not know there was a case in court on who the legitimate Dzaasetse by then too I was not part of the regional house of Chiefs” the Sempe Mantse emphasized.
He added “today I can say that Adama Latse’s enstoolment as Ga Mantse is null and void. And the legitimate Ga Mantse is King Teiko Tsuru II.”
For his part, the Principal Kingmaker (Dzaasetse) of the Ga State, Nii Tetteh Kwei II who presented the Ga Mantse, King Teiko Tsuru II, to the Ga Traditional Council stressed the need for the new King to be recognized as such by the Ga State.
“Ga Mantse is the king in the Ga State,” Nii Tetteh Kwei II clarified and noted that the Ga State has gone through needless feud which he said has affected the development of the Ga State adding that; this presentation of the new Ga Mantse brings finality to the Ga Mantse Chieftaincy crisis.
Addressing the gathering after he was accepted into the Council, His Royal Majesty Dr. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, stressed the need for Ghanaians to respect and adhere to health and safety standards protocols to contain the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
He said as a King, he supports the excellent safety measures instituted by the President and urged his subjects and residents in Accra to follow religiously the measures to prevent the spread of the disease.
Dr. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II known in private life as Dr. Kelvin Nii Tackie Abia Tackie stated that Ghanaians must constantly wash their hands with soap for over 20 seconds and wash them under running water, use alcohol based sanitisers, keep a distance of at least two metres from people they interacted with and sneeze into tissues and immediately dispose them off.
Visitors at the ceremony were welcomed by Dr. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, with the pouring of libation in line with the Ga customs and traditions.
King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II expressed profound appreciation to the Chiefs and people of the Ga State for supporting him to ascend the Ga Paramount Stool, which is the stool of his ancestors.
He called for unity amongst the Chiefs, elders and youth in Ga State to help propel socio-economic development and growth.
Dr. King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, who is very passionate about the peace and unity in Ga State, stressed that: “Our unity as citizens of Ga is paramount,” urging all citizens to join him and assist in the social and infrastructure development processes going on.
