The Deputy Minister of Communication who is also the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West Constituency, Nenyi George Andah, has charged parents to take advantage of scholarship scheme and educate their children to tertiary level to eradicate poverty.
In an interview with the press, Nenyi George Andah also encouraged tertiary students to take their academic works seriously to become future leaders.
George Andah gave the advice when he gave scholarship to 86 brilliant but needy tertiary students in Awutu Senya West at the cost of GH¢ 86,000. The gesture was made possible through his common fund.
Hon Andah said education is fundamental to the growth of the nation, hence the President and the NPP Government attach importance to education hence the several interventions in that sector.
The MP, in another development, cut sod for the construction of 7-kilometre asphalt road from Bawjiase to Obrachire, the Central region.
The Central Regional Treasure of NPP Prof Joseph Kobina Essibu also commended George Andah for creating conducive environment for this brilliant but needy students.
Beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme expressed their excitement and gratitude, and appealed to the people of Awutu Senya West to retained George Andah come December election.
