The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Global Media Foundation, GLOMEF, Raphael Godlove Ahenu, has received a top national award at the Ghana Leadership Awards 2025.
Mr. Ahenu was honoured with the Excellence in Social Impact Leadership and Human Rights Advocacy Award for his work in youth empowerment, human rights promotion and community development.
The award recognises his leadership in using media and advocacy to support vulnerable groups, promote accountability and push for inclusive development across the country.
An official citation praised Mr. Ahenu for amplifying the voices of marginalised people through community engagement, policy advocacy and media-driven initiatives that promote social justice and human rights.
Mr. Ahenu is the lead brain behind the Resilient City for Adolescents Project, which focuses on building leadership skills among young people and encouraging civic participation.
The project led to the formation of the Sunyani Adolescents Parliament, giving adolescents a platform to engage decision-makers and contribute to public policy discussions.
He also leads the Rights for Cocoa Project, which advocates for child protection, safe communities and ethical practices in cocoa-growing areas.
Beyond youth and child advocacy, Mr. Ahenu is known for his work in promoting transparency and accountability,
especially through citizen engagement and anti-corruption advocacy.
The Ghana Leadership Awards celebrate individuals whose work is making a positive impact in public service, civil society, business and community development.
The award highlights Mr. Ahenu’s growing influence and reaffirms GLOMEF’s role in promoting human rights, inclusive development and responsible leadership in Ghana.
