He noted that the year had come with its share of challenges and opportunities, stressing that the media’s support and constructive engagement helped his outfit communicate effectively and transparently with the public.

“The media remains a critical pillar in shaping public discourse and holding institutions accountable,” he said, adding that journalists continue to play a key role in ensuring that accurate and timely information reaches the right audiences.
Mr. Bissue acknowledged the rapidly evolving media landscape, driven by digital platforms, changing audience habits and the increasing demand for speed, but emphasised that the core values of journalism must remain intact.
“Despite these changes, truth, fairness, balance, and responsibility remain non-negotiable. We appreciate your dedication to upholding these values,” he stated.
According to him, the collaboration between his outfit and the media over the year yielded meaningful outcomes, particularly in the coverage of major announcements and community-focused initiatives. He added that feedback and critical questions from journalists had helped improve internal processes and sharpen communication strategies.

Looking ahead to 2026, Mr. Bissue pledged a stronger relationship with the media, promising greater openness, timely access to information and continuous engagement.
“A strong and respectful partnership between institutions and the media is essential for progress,” he said.
