The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has asked other sister transport operators to keep calm and not rush to implement the purported transport fare increment decision.
The information was relayed through a press statement signed on behalf of the General Secretary by the Deputy General Secretary admin Isaac Esau.
The union termed the Concerned Drivers Association decision to increase transport fare by 40% as “malicious” and “it contravenes the established protocols for the review of transport fares in the country”.
The union appealed to all transport operators and general public to disregard the purported increase as no such decision has been taken by the Public Transport Fare review committee.
They call on other sister transport operators to keep calm and not to rush in implementing decisions that have not been collectively agreed upon.
They hereby urge regional secretariats to ensure that all members within their jurisdiction adhere to the existing transport fare.
