The Queenmother of Kwabenya, a suburb in the Ga East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Naa Korkoi Dugbatey II, has accused an Estate Developer, Berchie Acheamfour for illegally grabbing lands belonging to the Odai Ntow Family.
The Queenmother said Mr. Berchie Acheamfour is currently using his financial strength to illegally take over lands that belong to individuals and families in the area.
According to her, Mr. Berchie Acheamfuo was using the names of influence peddlers, bragging without evidence that he had been ordered by the Operation Director, Office of the President, Lord Commey and the Former Senior Minister, Osarfo Marfo, to take over 22 plots of land belonging to her family.
Naa Dugbatey II further alleged that the Estate Developer has also illegally sold part of the land to the Maker’s Chapel owner and Reverend Obofo without the knowledge of the family, Ga East Assembly and the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC).
The Traditional leader also stated that Mr. Berchie Acheamfour was always accompanied by fully armed Soldiers anytime he visited the place to harass people on their lands.
She called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Minister for the Interior and President Akufo Addo to investigate the matter.
Meanwhile, when this papet was contacted by a close Friend to Mr. Bechie, only identified as Amponsah, he denied all the allegations raised by the Queenmother.
Mr. Amponsah explained that the said 22 plots of land were given to Mr. Berchie Acheamfour as part of agreement of the fencing of the entire GAEC Land to prevent encroachment.
The land, Mr. Amponsah said was given to Mr. Berchie Acheamfour by the Ga East Assembly and the authorities of GAEC but not Mr. Osarfo Marfo and Mr. Lord Commey as the Queenmother claimed.
He called on the general public to disregard all the allegations by the Queenmother.
