The Member of Parliament for Ejisu, Hon. John Kumah has donated items worth millions of cedis to the Nana Yaa Asantewaa Women Empowerment Center located at Ejisu in the Ashanti Region.
The donation which included 30 sewing machines, 5 hair dryers were presented to the Queen Mother of Ejisu, Nana Yaa Asantewaa II during a short ceremony at her palace.
The donation of the machines followed a promise made by the MP to his constituency that he will support new Artisans to start their own businesses.
Presenting the machines, Hon. John Kumah said he was delighted to contribute towards the future development of the young women.
He promised further assistance to residents in the constituency, stressing that the role of women in national development could not be under-estimated.
He said, the beneficiaries should be proud of the vocation they have chosen and urged them to make the best out of the tools provided them to support themselves and their families.
Some of the Artisans thanked the MP for the prompt response and promises to work hard to better their lives by becoming financially independent in their finances.
The Nana Yaa Asentewaa Women Empowerment Center has been providing women in Ejisu with entrepreneurial skills such as dressmaking, shoemaking among several others.
