The Chief of Ga-Joma in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region, Nii Ayi Armah Okropong, II, has appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to fulfill the promise he made to them in the run up to the 2016 general elections.
According to Nii Ayi Armah Okropong, the president promised to reconstruct the dilapidated inner roads in the Joma communities and the drainage systems in the area to protect them against the perennial floods and the road crashes
The Joma Chief made mention of the expectation of the people in seeing to the realization of the promise made by the president in 2016 in a bid to minimize the challenges confronting them
Nii Ayi Amarh Okropong made this known at the official launch of Nii Ayi Kushie Radio and Ga-Joma Television in the area on Saturday.
The two media organizations were established to help promote development in the area
“President Akufo Addo, then flagbearer of the NPP visited this area in 2016 and promised to rectify all the developmental challenges facing us should he win the 2016 general elections. This has not happened. The promise has not been fulfilled yet. we are therefore pleading with him to fulfill his campaign promises made to us before his term of office ends in January 7, 2025″ the Chief stated .
Nii Okropong II declared that the people of Joma are to vote massively for the NPP if their challenges are addressed.
For his part, the Development Chief of the area, Togbui Hodor Ayitey Noyaatse II, called on all the people of Joma to live in harmony and contribute their efforts towards the development of the area.
He touched on poor road network, inconsistent power supply, lack of portable drinking water among others.
