President John Mahama has directed the immediate termination of all government contracts with Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) following findings from an investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The directive, contained in a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, and addressed to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, ordered that all existing agreements with the company be brought to an end without delay.
Government sources say the move underscores the administration’s renewed commitment to accountability and transparency in the use of public funds.
SML had been under intense public and institutional scrutiny in recent months after the OSP launched a probe into alleged corruption and related offences tied to its contracts with the state.
Dr. Ato Forson has been instructed to ensure that the termination process adheres strictly to all applicable financial and legal regulations.
