President John Dramani Mahama has directed contractors working under the government’s flagship infrastructure initiative, The Big Push, to complete all assigned projects within 24 months.
Speaking during the sod-cutting of the Dodowa–Afienya road project on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, the President described the two-year window as both practical and strict enough to ensure value for money and prompt delivery.
Two Ghanaian firms—Oswal Investments Limited and First Sky Company Limited—have so far secured contracts under the programme. Oswal will reconstruct the 24.8-kilometre Dodowa–Afienya stretch in the Greater Accra Region, while First Sky takes on the more extensive 176.4-kilometre Atimpoku–Aflao road.
Mahama later replicated the ceremony at Atitrinu in the Ho Municipality, where he stressed that the projects will reduce traffic pressure, enhance trade, and unlock new socio-economic opportunities along the key transit routes.
