Before 2018 rode into sunset, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), under the Office of the President, Mr. Stephen Amoah, received four major laurels to his credit.
Of the four, three were international awards. He achieved the International Star Award for Quality`s Gold Category London 2018 at the Bid Quality Achievement Award, the Ghana Entrepreneur and Corporate Executive Awards 2018, for how well he managed the micro-finance sector, the EUROPANCEO Award for Best Chief Executive Officer in the Micro Loans Industry, and T.W.A.R.M award, in recognition of the new initiative he has introduced and implemented, which have enhanced delivery at the centre.
Added to the plaques, two of the international awardees- International Star Award for Quality and the EUROPANCEO published articles favourable about the MASLOC CEO, who is also an investment consultant, and his works.
The Bid Quality Achievement Award is conferred on companies, organizations and leaders who have verifiable quality values or have made exceptional contributions to Quality Culture in excellence in leadership and management, quality and excellence in products and services, brand prestige or brand leadership in specific business areas and innovation, development and technological production.
The International Star Award for Quality (ISAQ) that is presented annually in Geneva is one of the most prestigious awards in the world recognizing the quality and excellence of those companies that invest and strive for the improvement of products and services. The ISAQ was established in 1986 by Business Initiative Directions (BID) and is awarded on the basis of guidelines of the QC 100, supported by the BID Quality Mix Program. Leadership values, excellence, innovation, and technology are all determining factors for winning the award.
The European CEO Awards is a UK-based scheme that provides recognition to exceptional leaders within the industry, identifying innovative and creative leaders who have demonstrated strong integrity and contributed both the industry and wider society.
According to Mr. Amoah, his vision is to achieve competitive excellence by using trailblazing technologies to provide affordable micro-loans to SMEs and start-ups in the remotest part of Ghana adding that the motive is to ensure the financial inclusion of this target group which has previously been excluded from the traditional banking environment.
Until his appointment as MASLOC boss, Mr. Stephen Amoah was a part-time lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and was also the Acting Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NPP and the director of operations of the party in the 2016 Parliamentary and Presidential elections.
Mr. Stephen Amoah has also served as a member of the Public Affairs Committee, National Campaign team for election 2008 and played a key role as former Ashanti Regional TESCON President.
He was also the CEO of Zintex Company Limited and served as a resource person for training of NPP youth for community outreach activities in 2014.
Stephen is a PHD candidate in Applied Mathematics (Finance Option), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
