Traditional Authorities of Mempehasem are warming up for massive demonstrate to show their displeasure if the Lands Commission fails to engage them in the public lands recovery exercise that lead to a confrontation between students of Ideal College and officials from the Lands Commission.
According to Traditional Authorities from Mempehasem who condemned the incident that happened at Ideal College where students were seen in a viral video engaged in a confrontation with security officers and officials from the Lands Commission.
The angry chiefs revealed that, Land Commission have connived with Clement Gyato and demolished innocent Ghanaians Land and resell them to rich Politicians which is wrong.
Nananom said, there is no empty land in Mempehasem but Clement Gyato and Land Commission have made up their mind that, the will demolished poor people houses and sell to Both NPP and NPP to officials since there is no land at East Legon again.
Nananom says, 112.2 acres of lands were released to them by former President John Agyekum Kufuor based on the 2008 agreement which sought to cede portion of the Lands to the Chiefs and People of Mempehasem.
They group is worried that the commission continues to deal with Djirasse of La and the Numo Mashi family of Teshie on issues relating to Mempehasem.
Addressing media men in Accra Chief of Mempehasem Nii Torgbor Obodai Ampaw says should the Lands Commission cede portion of their land to the Djirasse family or the Numo Mashie family they will demonstrate in disapproval of better still seek redress at the law court.
For these resident of Mempehasem, they are disappointed at how the Lands Commission is handling the issues relating to Mempehasem and have vowed to take action.
