Nii Nortey Oquaye Jnr. yesterday submitted his completed nomination forms at
the Dome-Kwabenya constituency office of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), as he
gears up to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament in the party’s upcoming
parliamentary primaries in April, this year.
The son of the current Speaker of Parliament, who is also Ghana’s Ambassador to India, H.E Mike Oquaye Jnr was met a rapturous welcome by huge numbers of party faithful and delegates alike as he showed up in person to present his filled nomination forms to the party executives who were already seated and waiting with open arms to receive him.
The Dome-Kwabenya parliamentary seat is currently being occupied by a two time Member of Parliament Hon. Adwoa Sarfo, but this time she has to face-off with yet another political colossal in the person of H.E Mike Oquaye Jnr in the ‘Dome-Kwabenya Show Down’ come 20th April this year.
Observing from the enthusiasm and the energy levels of the party faithful who had come from all the nooks and crannies within the constituency and also claiming to have come on their own volition to lend their support to Nii Nortey Oquaye Jnr other the norm where supporters sponsored, is clearly an indication the sitting MP is under siege.
Nominations will close on Thursday, 20th February 2020.
Aspiring parliamentary candidates procured their nomination forms at GH¢2,000 and filing fee of GH¢20,000.
