The Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of Willak Solutions and Abuakwa South New Patriotic Party(NPP) Youth Organizer, Nana Kwame Amoako; also known as William Amoako, has underscored the critical role of Technical Universities (TUs) in Ghana’s industrialization agenda.
Speaking as chairman at the Koforidua Technical University Akwaaba Lunch, an event to welcome new students into their academic programme, he urged students to align their education with national development priorities.
Mr. Amoako highlighted that Ghana’s industrialization depends on a skilled workforce with technical expertise and practical experience. He noted that TUs play a key role in bridging the skills gap, fostering research and innovation, promoting entrepreneurship, strengthening industry collaboration, and advancing technology. He encouraged students to embrace hands-on training, seek internship opportunities, and develop innovative solutions to industrial challenges.
He further advised students to familiarize themselves with government initiatives like *One District, One Factory (1D1F), which focus on boosting local production. He stressed the importance of continuous learning, encouraging students to stay updated on industry trends and embrace technological advancements.
Additionally, he urged them to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, explore opportunities in ICT, engineering, and manufacturing, and maintain professionalism and discipline in their academic and career pursuits.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Amoah emphasized the need for unity and collaboration among students, urging them to support one another and embrace diversity. He expressed confidence that with the right mindset and skills, Technical University students can become key contributors to Ghana’s economic transformation.
