The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Krowor Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Joseph Attah Gyimah, has explained that the appointment of Mathew Opoku Prempeh (Napo) as the running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia would cushion the party to win the impending general elections.
Speaking in an interview with this Journalist, Chairman Attah Gyimah expressed optimism that the selection of Napo would help to increase the popularity of the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region and beyond .
“Napo is an experienced politician. Besides, he is transparent and competent. He is not corrupt like John Mahama. He is a leader who believes in Democracy and also humble.
According to Chairman Attah Gyimah, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh has become a threat to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the December 7 elections.
“The people of the Ashanti region said they want to see Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the President of the Republic of Ghana with NAPO as his vice and that is what has been delivered and we hope to see a massive victory afterwards.
Mr. Gyimah called for unity among the party members ahead of the elections, saying that without peace, unity and harmony it was impossible to put their act together and forge forward strongly for the ultimate aim of retaining power.
Touching on the Krowor Constituency, Mr. Gyimah said the constituency has always been peaceful and hoped that it would continue to experience the peaceful atmosphere forwards the elections
He further called on all the constituency and polling station executives, electoral area coordinators, and party members and supporters, among others, to endeavor and maintain the wind of peace, unity and harmony in the constituency
