The second edition of the National Stem competition, Stemnnovation, recently took place at the University of Ghana Cedi Hall on 14th and 15th November, 2023. The event, organized by the Education Ministry of Ghana under the auspices of the Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Adutwum (MP), aimed to promote innovation, critical thinking, and excellence among Senior High School students in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The competition provided a platform for participating schools to showcase their incredible innovations. Among the impressive displays were robotic cars and various other cutting-edge equipment, demonstrating the students’ dedication to pushing the boundaries of STEM education in Ghana.
Hon. Dr. Yaw Adutwum, the Minister for Education, voiced his admiration for the students’ work and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making STEM the gateway to Ghanaian education. Acknowledging the crucial role STEM plays in societal progress and economic development, the Minister emphasized the need to nurture and support students’ involvement in these fields.
