News desk report
The former Afigya kwabre South constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA) has Stated that it is in the interest of the country that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) remains in opposition in order to save the free Senior High School (SHS) policy from collapse.
“The NDC and its flagbearer, John Mahama have never liked free education. Infact they fought the introduction of Free Senior High School (SHS) policy with many sponsored advertisements against it and therefore cannot be trusted to protect it if they win power. A vote for NPP is a vote for safeguarding free SHS for many poor Ghanaian families”, COKA said whiles addressing party supporters at the launch of Ejisu NPP constituency campaign over the weekend in Kumasi.
He stated that election has consequences and therefore it is important that voters consider a party with credibility and track record before voting.
“Elections have consequences on the people. Depending on who you vote for, the county will progress or retrogress. Therefore, it is important that the electorates consider a party who can protect many of the social intervention programs like the free SHS which has benefited many families across the country. Again, the NDC and John Mahama could not supply stable electricity for 5 years and businesses collapsed. You cannot trust such a political party to develop Ghana.”
Chairman Kwaku Appiah urged NPP to approach the December elections with all seriousness by closing ranks to ensure victory.
“Ghanaians will not forgive NPP if it fails to maintain power to keep many of the social intervention programmes being implemented. It is okay to be aggrieved party member but for the sake of our children’s future let’s forgive each other and join the house to house campaign to ensure NPP stays in power.”
Chairman Kwaku Appiah noted that it is only NPP that can develop the country better through the various initiatives that benefit all.
He also urged the Ashanti region NPP not to disappoint the Party and the flagbearer, Dr. Mahmadu Bawumia.
“The NPP is the biggest political party in Ghana with huge following. The party has the Ashanti region as its political base. In fact, the region is the second region with the highest votes in Ghana and once we close our ranks and unite behind the big elephant, the opposition NDC will never win the elections. So, let’s all work to maximize votes for NPP”.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu constituency and parliamentary candidate for NPP, Mr. Kwabena Boateng called on the constituents to join his campaign to win more votes for NPP.
“The Ejisu constituency must not disappoint NPP and Dr, Bawumia come December poll. The Ejisu constituency had been the backbone of the electoral victories of NPP and therefore it was important for the people to continue in that direction to help bring the needed socio-economic development and transformation of the area”.
