The whole of the Ada community, a suburb within the New Juaben South constituency in the Eastern Region, is still agog with praises on the person they describe as their redeemer and Member of Parliament(MP) in-waiting, Yaa Ansaa Safori, for taking steps to refurbish their water reservoir, which has been deteriorating for the past forty years.
Chiefly amongst the items the Chief Executive Officer of the Koforidua-based Non-Governmental Organisation(NGO), Yaa Ansaa Safori Foundation donated toward the refurbishment of the reservoir and to improve the welfare of residents in the area; were: 50 bags of cements, 5 packets of roofing sheets, 50 boxes of roofing nails, 50 boxes of bottle water together with 2×6, 2×4 woods and undisclosed amount of money.
Speaking to the media after the donation, the woman unfurling her sleeves to steer the affairs of her people after the disappointment from their current MP explained that, water is an essential commodity to human’s life.
She therefore deemed it fit to support the refurbishment of the water reservoir when she received a distress call from the community to assist them solve their water challenge and also join them in cleaning their environment.
According to Yaa Ansaa Safori, she grew up in Koforidua, drunk water from the same reservoir, and has since been supporting that and other communities. Therefore, being a mother, she could not sit aloof while her people continue to fetch water from the deteriorating reservoir hence her swift response to their destress call.
It is obviously Yaa Ansaa Safori’s dedication to duty, service to the party and philanthropic works which delegates say towers her above all, that is sending her straight to Parliament, the constituents said, adding that, calling on her to come and contest for the New Juaben South parliamentary seat and lead them into the promise land is not out of place.
On his part in an interview, Adahene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Nana Agyei Sarpong II commended the CEO for Yaa Ansaa Safori Foundation for her kind gesture.
The Adahene added that they would rally support for her to ensure she wins the New Juaben South NPP’s parliamentary primary because if she goes to Parliament as their MP she would do bigger things for them.
Like Oliver Twist, Nana Agyei Sarpong II, called on government and well-meaning individuals to come to the aid of the community with basic amenities to address sanitation and access to good drinking water.
Nana Agyei Sarpong II, contended that lack of public toilet in the community was paving way for open deification which could result in outbreak of diseases in the community.
Meanwhile the Assemblyman for Ada Magazine Electoral Area, Richard Okyere, was beside himself with joy and full of praised to Yaa Ansah Sarfori for her kind gesture.
He supported the call from the chief and pledged his readiness to spearhead the agenda at the Assembly’s general meeting to solve the open deification challenges of the community.
Now that Yaa Ansaa is out of the consultative stage and has declared her intention to contest the New Juaben seat, it remains to be seen what message and how the incumbent MP would be able to convince New Juaben constituents to vote for him, outside of bragging that Dr. Bawumia, the flagbearer supports him, a claim which insiders say is a falsity.
Already, New Crusading GUIDE has gathered that the former Free Zones CEO has started whispering to his allies that he would go unopposed, which has set tongues wagging and warning that any move by anyone to disqualify Yaa Ansaa Safori would be met with fierce opposition from the presidency to the grassroot.
Stay tuned.
