Reliable information gathered by The New Crusading Guide has indicated that the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Divine Agorhorm has not relented on his schemes to incite residents of Ada against the ongoing development of the Songor Salt Project.

Mr. Divine Agorhorm who was accused of the area of spearheading the incessant attacks on the possible smooth take-off of the Songor Salt Project currently being handled by Electrochem Ghana Limited, is continuously pulling strings to pitch residents against investors on the project.

It could be recalled that, the NPP Chairman together with some individuals allegedly imported thugs from the Ashaiman community to scuttle site preparations being made by the investors to kick start the project.

This development, according to information led to an order from the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who invited and cautioned the Regional Chairman with strict instructions for him to take every step to ensure that the ‘fire’ he (Divine) had started in Ada is brought under control.

However, the order by the President seem to have fallen flat as Divine Agorhorm is seen having engagements with some chiefs and youth groupings within Ada, still inciting them against the project.

This paper can confirm that, on Saturday, February 27, 2021, Divine Agorhorm held a closed door meeting with some chiefs at Naky’s Hotel in Ada.

Snippets of information gathered indicate that topical on their agenda was the Songor Salt Project being leased to a single investor and how they can possibly get work to get portions of the project taken and handed over to another investor.

Ahead of his meeting with the chiefs, it had emerged that he held a one-on-one meeting with the Libi Wornor which culminated into a press conference by the chiefs who claimed that, the Songor Lagoon is too big for one person to manage.

It has also been established that, Divine Agorhorm is doing everything possible to see the cancellation of the project because according to information, he has an interest in the project.

He has also been said to have already met some youth groups in the communities, mobilizing them to demonstrate against the project.

Meanwhile, residents who have been in support of the project could not fathom why Divine Agorhorm, being the Regional Chairman of a political party in government will rise against such laudable initiative.

It has been alleged that he had brought some investors to Ada some three years ago promising to ensure that the Songor Salt project will be handed over to them to mine.

However, things seem to have turned against his interest hence, the hatred for  Electrochem Ghana investors.

Speaking to some opinion leaders in the area, they averred that Divine Agorhorm has been playing a mind game with the people, pretending as though he supports the project yet, he is working behind to bring the company down.

Residents, who are not comfortable with the underground arrangements being made by Divine Agorhorm to cause confusion and foment trouble among the people in respect of the Salt project, are calling on the President, Nana Akufo-Addo to call him to order.

Meanwhile, the company Electrochem Ghana Limited has in the spate of six (6) weeks doubled the workforce of the existing workers who have been working on the project to the admiration of residents.

The Company has retained all existing workers of about 300 and currently going on with existing mining activities; mining in the existing pans whilst working on prototypes of the new pans it intends to build for the entire project.

Divine Agorhorm from our information will be meeting the chiefs he had already met and Libi Wornor, who is considered the number one ‘enemy’ of the projects, tomorrow Tuesday, March 2, 2021, to fashion out modalities of carrying out their agenda against Electrochem.

Pockets of information being picked from the community is pointing to the fact that, the Songor Salt project which has come to give breather to the people, could suffer another heavy attack from groups build by Divine Agorhorm if he is not called to order.
