Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Central Region have suspended the Awutu Senya West NPP Constituency Chairman, Charles Amoansah indefinitely for showing indiscipline against patrons, Council Of Elders and also inciting citizens to vote against the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) Nenyi George Andah come December 2020 Elections.
According to the information, Charles Amoansah has never render an account to the party executives since he was elected as the Constituency Chairman.
In an interview, Baffuor Odiatuo Ofori Achempong NPP Chairman of the Awutu Senya West NPP Council of Elders who filed a petition against the Constituency chairman at the Regional level indicated that, Charles Amoansah is not cooperating with the rest of the Constituency executives while as he created factions in the party which is a treat to the NPP come 2020 Elections.
“We have further observed that he has succeeded in breaking the ranks of the party with one faction supporting him and the other faction supporting the Member of Parliament elect. A situation that threatens the growth and stability of our party,” they indicated.
Baffuor Odiatuo Ofori said, they first invited Chairman Charles Amoansah to appear before the Constituency Council of elders to solve the allegations levelled against him but to no avail.
He said several phone calls, WhatsApp messages, normal text messages and a letter but to the Chairman inviting him for the said meeting all fell on deaf ears; hence the decision to call for his suspension.
Baffuor Odiatuo Ofori Achempong also cautioned Constituency Party executives, Regional executives and some members of Parliament to desist from indiscipline in the party.
Meanwhile when the Central Regional Secretary Tekyi Mensah was contacted, he confirmed that, Awutu Senya West NPP Constituency Chairman Charles Amoansah has been suspended indefinitely.
