A Patron of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP, Kojo Adarkwa from the Asene Manso Akroso Constituency of the Eastern Region has donated some items and an undisclosed amount of money to the constituency.
According to him, the motive behind the donation is because it is the good works of the President and the Member of Parliament for the area, George Aboagye that touched him to also donate to the party in order to ensure that they work effectively and efficiently to bring victory to party once again.
The items donated were 230 pieces of Lacoste and T-shirts, 120 pieces of 2 litres of liquid soap, 2 sets of ‘horn’ speakers for announcements and broadcasting, 20 pieces of chairs for the constituency office, 120 pieces of NPP branded face masks and an undisclosed amount of money.
Presenting the items Mr Kohi Adarkwa said, “Basically these are the items we have given to them in addition to an amount of money which can’t be disclosed. This is not my first time doing this. I have followed the party for a very long time but the thing is I have never supported my constituency with logistics even though I have done some in the past for Tarkwa-Nsuaem constituency and Ayawaso West Wagon constituency”.
He advised the leaders and campaign team not to be complacent, although the elections are already won they should still be vigilant, work harder to ensure that the victory becomes a reality.
Receiving the items the NPP Constituency Chairman, Frank Anim Bediako expressed profound gratitude to the patron and asked him to make more such donations to intervene in the affairs of the constituency in the future.
“We are very very grateful, this is very very timely because we have like four cars that are being branded after which we will need ‘horns’ but now we have them in abundance. The party is thankful for this kind gesture but what we are saying is Oliver asked for more. So they should do more for the party to cushion us to also do more for the party” he stressed.
The Chairman targeted about 85% of votes for both President Akufo-Addo and the Parliamentary Candidate for the area Mr Aboagye.
He again mentioned that there’s no pressure and competition from any opposition because what President Akufo-Addo has done for the constituency and country as a whole is visible to everyone.
