The parliamentary candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Boateng has
won the Ejisu by-election.
Boateng secured 27, 772 representing 55.8% while his closest contender Kwabena Owusu
Aduomi, an independent candidate, polled 21,534 representing garnered 42.6% of the total votes.
Beatrice Boakye of the Liberal Party secured 140 votes representing 0.3%. Esther Osei of the
Convention People’s Party got 89 votes representing 0.2% votes.
Independent candidate Fredua Joseph Agyemang got 222 votes representing 0.4% while Atakora
Joseph polled 23 votes representing 0.1%.
The Ejisu parliamentary by-election became necessary following the sudden death of John
Kumah, the MP for the area.
The by-election was peaceful and incident-free.
