The Founder and leader of In Him Is Life Church International, Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo has filed separate law Suits at the High Court in Accra against Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah of Glorious Power Ministry International Church, Nana Osei Bonsu Hoani of Next TV and Michael Adu, Justice Kweku Annan and Net 2 Television.
The Writs which were simultaneously filed on May 19, 2020 are against a defamatory statement made against him by the Defendants and on the Defendants’ platforms.
Few weeks ago, Michael Adu who claims to be Demon Breaker and a former pastor of Bishop Obinim, added Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo to his list of people he described as fake men of God.
He made these claims on Net 2 Television hosted by Justice Kweku Annan.
Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah also joined the fracas; and in an interview with Nana Bonsu Hoani accused Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo of being a fetish priest, impregnating and fathering a child with a lady amid other allegations.
In his Statement of Claim, Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo said that the statements made by the 1st Defendant (Michael Adu) supported by 2nd Defendant (Justce Kwaku Annan) in the 3rd Defendant’s (Net 2 Gh Tv)
TV studio on Monday 27th April, 2020 between 8 to 10 pm, and successively on Monday 4th May, 2020 between 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm are Defamatory.
The Plaintiff (Isaac Opoku Obotuo) is seeking for an Order of the Court directed at the Defendants to Publish on three (3) consecutive occasions on the same Platform that broadcast or published the Defamatory words, an unqualified Retraction and Apology of every broadcast made by the Defendants against the Plaintiff with the same prominence as given to the broadcast and publication of the Defamatory words.

He is also seeking for an Exemplary damages for malicious conduct of the 1st and 2nd Defendants tacitly by the 3rd Defendant’s TV station and Legal costs and Attorney’s fees among others.
Also in another Writ he filed against Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah, Nana Osei Bonsu Hoani of Next TV and Michael Adu and Net 2 Television, Rev Isaac Obotou said Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah made statements which were supported by Nana Osei Bonsu Hoani in Net 2 TV studio on Friday 1st May, 2020 between 11.00 am to 2.00 pm describing the statements as “Defamatory.”
He is seeking an order for Perpetual Injunction restraining the Defendants by themselves, or by their guest, host and TV station, their agents, assigns, and servants from further publishing the said broadcast, including on any other electronic broadcast.
The Plaintiff noted in his Affidavit In Support that, the writ of summons and the statement of claim were duly handed the bailiffs on 21st May, 2020 for service on the Defendants and same served on the 2nd and the 3rd Defendants promptly.
According to him, several attempts to serve the 1st Defendant (Reverend Dr. Isaac Owusu Bempah) had been unsuccessful resulting in affidavits of Non service dated 21st, 27th May 2020 and 9th June, 2020.
He averred that it became obvious that the 1st Defendant has resorted to deliberately evading service of the summons on him when for over 3 different occasions gave the bailiff appointment to meet him and deliver the processes to him he by phone contact but refused to show up and or pick up his calls
“That at most times of his appointed times also 1st Defendant put off his phone and or would not respond to the bailiff’s calls.
That these frustrations of service on him recurred at all times at the Glorious Word Power Ministry International Church, South Odokor Busia road, Accra the office premises of the 1st Defendant.”
The Plaintiff thus demanded for an order for service by substitution by posting the writ of summons and the statement of claim on High the Court Notice Board, Court Complex Accra, service by pasting on the walls of the Glorious Word Power Ministry International Church, South Odokor Busia road, Accra the last known place of abode and or business address of the 1st Defendant and including one (1) time advertisement by a publication in an accredited widely circulated Daily Newspaper in Ghana, including electromagnetic publications.
Prophet Isaac Opoku Obotuo said, he the 1st Defendant has deliberately resorted to evasion of personal service until the Honourable Court exercises its power by an order for substituted service of all court processes to be served on the 1st Defendant by the above mentioned prescribed modes of service.
