Pastor Nick Amuzu Lagoh, a resident of Adenta Japan Motors in the Adenta Municipality planning to sue the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and the Ghana Police Service over the unwarranted and constant harassments by some Police Personnel in his house without legal bases.
The decision to sue the Police and the IGP arises from the incessant attacks on him even when he had been exonerated by a Circuit court over charges and allegations leveled against him by the Lakeside Police and the Lakeside estate company.
Pastor Nick Amuzu Lagoh , a land lord at Adenta Japan Motors was arrested in 2020 by the lakeside Police on the orders of the Lakeside estate company over a piece of land he genuinely bought and built a house where he lives with his family. The Police investigators processed him before the Adenta Circuit court for allegedly breaking a wall in his own house. After several months of court proceeding and submission of documents , it was proven in court that the land genuinely belongs to Pastor Nick Amuzu Lagoh based on documents presented and evidence adduced . The court further gave a verdict in his favor, exonerated and discharged him in 2022.
The fact of the case is that some officials of the lakeside company after several years of harassment illegally sold half of the land Pastor Amuzu genuinely bought and stays with his wife and children to somebody who with the help of the Police forcefully divided the land into two and started building on it. Pastor Amuzu wrote several petition to the Property fraud unit, the police headquarters and PIPS among other but to no avail. The Police officers rather came back to arrest him for trespassing on the land and charged him as such. He was subsequently arrested and charged by the Police after a wall mounted collapsed in the house since the Police said he was a suspect. He was therefore charged and processed before court.
The case was duly heard before the Adenta Circuit court where he was acquitted and discharged of the offences for which he was arraigned before the court.
Having been acquitted and discharged he took steps to abate the trespasser structures such as the unlawful fence wall that the complainant has constructed on his land but the Lakeside Police wouldn’t allow that to happen. They have gone further to flout the rule of the circuit court and continue to invade the home of Pastor Amuzu to harass him.
As a result , has written several petitions to the Inspector General of Police ,IGP , and the Police service complaining about the conduct of the Lakeside Police led by one Sergeant Tanor, but they wouldn’t listen and investigate the issue
He has therefore, based on the advice of his lawyers, and decided to sue the Ghana Police service and the inspector General of Police to seek Justice.
