A Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist, Elvis Asiedu Antwi, has added construction to his plethora of companies.
This time, he has birthed Elvimart Construction Enterprise to help address the housing deficit in the country.
New data on housing puts the national housing deficit at 1.8m, a 33% reduction from the previous deficit of 2.8 million.
It is estimated by the Ministry of Housing that there is a 2 million housing deficit.
In view of this development, Elvis Asiedu Antwi said, Elvimart would complement government efforts in ensuring that Ghanaians have affordable housing facilities thereby reducing further, the deficiencies there are in housing.
He indicated, in a telephone interview with this paper yesterday, that Elvimart’s focus would be on affordable homes for Ghanaians on a low income and believes it would help low-income families with afford housing.
Elvis Asiedu Antwi mentioned that the housing deficit remains a serious challenge in Ghana and that the situation is made worse by the high rate of inflation in businesses, especially after a global pandemic. “But, Elvimart will continue to support low- and medium-income earners to actualise their dream of becoming homeowners,” he assured.
Elvis Asiedu Antwi who is also a Special Aide to the Sempe Mantse, Nii Otintor is popularly known as General, and commands deference across the business world for his astuteness and the roles he plays in supporting the marginalized in society.
Mr. Asiedu Antwi has over the years proved loyal to the cause of residents by providing livelihood support schemes that have benefitted people.
For instance, in 2019, the philanthropist in a gesture running into thousands of Ghana cedis donated toiletries, detergents and cement for blocks to help residents in and around the Kokrobite community in the Ga South municipality.
Mr. Asiedu Antwi has over the last decade and beyond, made it an annual ritual to donate and help alleviate the plight of the poor and marginalized in society.
