The Nkawie Police Command in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti region has granted bail to two Chinese illegal miners (galamseyers) who were arrested at Nyinawusu for operating illegally on legally acquired concessions belonging to someone.
This paper upon intelligence from a reliable source from the Nkawie Divisional Police Command revealed that the District Chief Executive for Atwima Mponua, Mr. Williams Darko, piled incessant pressure on the police chief to release the two Chinese galamseyers with immediate effect, for a reason that they are operating community mining and he the DCE is aware.
Based upon the claims made by the DCE, the police chief had no option than to release the Chinese from their custody, according to our information.
Immediately after their release per the investigation conducted, the Chinese illegal miners are lacing their boots to go back to the same mining site at Nyinawusu to continue with their activities.
Some concerned residents have however vowed to resist any attempt by the DCE, Mr. Williams Darko and his Chinese galamseyers to enter the site.
When this paper stormed the Nyinawusu community, and spoke to the residents on the attitude of the DCE, they appealed to the National Security Minister, and the Defence minister to as a matter of urgency take action to avoid any future chaos.
