The Kwabenya Traditional Council in the Greater Accra region has called on President Nana Akufo Addo to re-appoint the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Officer of the Ga East Municipal, Janet Tulasi Mensah.
They indicated that the reappointment of the MCE would help her further her unfinished works towards the development of the area.
They vowed to withdraw their support for any other person that would be appointed by President Akufo Addo for the position apart from Mrs. Mensah.
The Traditional Council through the Kwabenya- Musuku Chief, Nii Mensah Dzanyogo I, at a news conference described yesterday said Mrs. Mensah as a visionary and a dynamic leader the area could ever boast of.
Nii Dzanyogo I noted the area has witnessed massive developmental projects under the able leadership of the MCE.
“We were all against Mr. Mensah’s appointment initially but I can tell you out of fear that the MCE has proved us as Traditional leaders wrong,” the Chief stated.
In the area of sanitation, the Chief noted the MCE has worked to ensure that sanitation hits every corner of the municipality to compliment President Akufo Addo’s aim of ensuring that Accra becomes the cleanest city in the whole of West Africa.
He disclosed how the hardy works of the Mrs. Mensah has helped her chalked several awards on both the internal and the international front since her assumption of office.
The area, the Chief further disclosed, has witnessed massive infrastructural development, adding that the MCE has ensured that Kwabenya gets an Ultra-modern Market facility.
“We want Mrs. Mensah to continue with her good works which have helped to ensured that unity and peace prevailed in the municipality under her tenure of office” he indicated.
The Chief further described the MCE as democratic leader who welcomes everyone’s idea towards the growth of the area.
According to the Chief, the only the New Patriotic Party (NPP) could maintain its dominance in the constituency is only when Mrs. Mensah is retained in office.
