The Queen mother of the Sakyikrom Traditional Area within the Nsawam -Adoagyiri Municipality of the Eastern Region, Nanahemaa Agyankwabea-Acheampomaa III, has experienced her day of shame after evoking curses on Abusuapanyin, Nana Kofi Owusu.
For no important reason, the Queen mother pour libation to their ancestors to transfer their anger on the abusuapanyin for defending the Apagyahene of the area for making known to the media the various challenges confronting the area.
Upon hearing the case, Traditional Leaders of the Akwamu Traditional Area discovered that the Queen mother who disobeyed the Akwamu Traditional Council was found guilty and was asked to purify the Abusuapnyin with a fat sheep and Ghc500.
The Queen mother was further ordered to pay a fine of GHC1,500 to the Elders who presided over the meeting.
Evoking of curses according to information was a serious taboo within the area, as the queen mother on several occasions’ punished people for same offences.
The Queen mother who pleaded guilty to all the charges was also ask to go out and sin no more against any member of the area.
“You have flouted our traditional laws and we are therefore warning you to go out and leave a life full of emulation to others,” they warned her.
The Queen mother was also fined for recently taking the law into her own hand and destooled the Apagyahene of the area.
“You are causing a serious confusion in Sakyikrom and we therefore want you to go and unite with all for the total development of the area,” they advised.
Speaking with this reporter, Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, thanked the elders of the Akwamu traditional area for the decision taken.
“We are the same people and I therefore want the Queen mother to let us join hands for the total development of the area,” he disclosed.
