Abusua Panin of Abor Awusi Twidan Royal Family of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kofi Ahomka has called on Nana Abor Awusi (XX) to stop parading himself as the Chief of Gomoa Fetteh.
Nana Kofi Ahomka said, Gomoa Fetteh has a legitimate chief with the stool Name, Nana Abor Atta (ii) since 2019 after the death of Nana Abor Yamoah
In 2016, the Abor Awusi Family Royal Family led by Nii Odartey, who is parading himself as Nana Abor Awusi (XX) took Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene, Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea to Agona Swerdru High Court and asking the court to allowed them to installed a new chief since the then Chief Nana Abor Yamoah(ii) name has been removed from the National house of chief’s register.
The court presided by Justice Peter Dei Ofei ruled in favor of Abor Awusi Twidan Royal family and the court force Gomoa Akyempim Omanhene Obrifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea to allow the family to install a chief.
After the ruling the ruling, the late Gomoa Fetteh Chief, Nana Abor Yamoah and Abusuapain Kow Abekah took the matter to supreme Court and asking the court to set aside the Agona Swerdru High Court Ruling because Gomoa Fetteh has a chief and Nii Odartey(Nana Abor Awusi xx) family cannot installed a chief because their family can hold Abusuapain title and not a chief.
On 27th June 2017, the Supreme Court Justices, Justice William Atuguba(Presiding) Justice John’s Dotse, Baffoe Bonnie,Justice Benin and Justice Pwamang granted the application filed by Nana Abor Yamoah and Abusuapain Kow Abekah.
The application is granted, there was a pending chieftaincy dispute at the time of the order made, let therefore the order of Peter Dei Ofei J dated the 16th day of January 2017 be brought up before this court to quashed and the same lol is hereby quashed.
Consequences all steps based on this order are also null and void and hereby set aside.
Speaking at a press conference held today at Gomoa Fetteh, Abusuapain of Abor Awusi Royal family of Gomoa Fetteh, Nana Kofi Ahomka called on Nii Odartey should stop parading himself as chief of Gomoa Fetteh because he is not a chief.
He said Gomoa Fetteh has a chief and his elders and calling on Ghana Police to Arrest him for Impersonation.
