Ghana’s foreign policy is entering a new phase as President John Dramani Mahama dispatches a fresh team of envoys to represent the nation in key global capitals.
The President says their mission is to “carry Ghana’s Reset Agenda to the world” and secure stronger partnerships for growth.
At a ceremony on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Jubilee House, President Mahama charged the diplomats to project Ghana’s renewed vision while advancing the country’s economic and political interests on the global stage.
“The Reset Agenda is this administration’s blueprint,” Mahama declared. “It’s a bold vision to restore hope, rebuild trust, and rekindle the movement towards prosperity.
“While much of the work begins at home, your task is to extend this agenda abroad by unlocking opportunities and deepening Ghana’s place in the global community.”
The President named Zita Sabah Benson (UK), Victor Emmanuel Smith (US), Mavis Ama Frimpong (France), Baba Jamal (Nigeria), and Kojo Bonsu (China) among the top appointees. Others include Professor Ohene Adjei (Germany), Alhaji Abdul Nasiru-Deen (Turkey), Nii Amasah Namoale (Brazil), and Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso (India).
Mahama reminded them that Ghana’s diplomacy has long rested on Pan-African solidarity, peaceful coexistence, and fairness in global affairs.
He stressed that the envoys must go beyond ceremonial roles to attract investments, secure alliances, and amplify Ghana’s voice in international decision-making.
