Intelligence gathered by the New Crusading Guide newspaper at Minti, a community within the Bosome Freho district of the Ashanti region has established that the District Chief Executive (DCE) Yaw Danso, has caused created among the indigenes in relation to the recruitment security personnel to intimidate farmers in the area.
Mr. Yaw Danso, president’s representative in the Bosome Freho district is said to be claiming ownership of a mining concession at Minti which is legally owned by one E. K Agyeman. Information indicates that, Yaw Danso has in turn given the concession to a group at Nobwem a community within the Juaben municipality also in the Ashanti region to operate on.
Following this development, the legitimate owner of the mining concession has also decided not to allow what is due him to be forcibly taken from him.
Based on his refusal to hand over the mining concession to the usurpers, Sources say the District Chief Executive who is also chairman of the District Security Committee, DISEC, has issued series of threats and insults on Mr. E K Agyeman via phone calls after confronting him on the issue.
When the new Crusading Guide Newspaper visited the mining site at Minti, it was discovered that the DCE’s has invaded the concession with his illegal mining operators, popularly known as Galamsey operators and are engaged in mining. They have created several mining pits, polluted the nearby river with poisonous chemicals. Residents in the area have raised series of concerns about the activities of the Galamsey operators controlled by Yaw Danso.
This paper through its findings intercepted a document signed by the then Lands and Natural Resources minister, Mr. Kwaku Asoma Cheremeh for Mr. E K Agyeman indicating that he is the legitimate owner of the mining concession in Minti.
