The Vice President for Global Evangelical Society (GES), S. B Dadson, has called on church leaders and the church in general to return to God, stressing the God of the Church.
“According to the Lord, the church has forsaken her position and gone after other gods, the church has gone wayward and has departed from her cause”, he said.
“If any man teach otherwise and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our lord Jesus Christ and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; he is proud knowing nothing but doting about questions and strives of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, perverse disputing of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness from such withdraw thyself; but godliness with contentment is great gain for we brought nothing into this world and it is certain we carry nothing out and having food and raiment let us be therewith content; but they that would be rich fall into temptation and a snare which draw men Into destruction and perdition”, he said.
Mr. S. B Dadson said this at a press conference organised by the society to disclose God’s prophetic message in regards to addressing issues of the land at a church service held by the society March this year.
He said God touched on the Church as a way of addressing issues of the land, lamenting the state of affairs in the church in our motherland Ghana.
Rev. Dadson said the church of today has taken on another gospel, the gospel of materialism and not the cross. Many preach gains and think that gains are godliness, 1 Timothy Chapter 6 verse 3 through 10 tells it all.
For thus saith the Lord, ” My church, you cannot preach the cross, setting aside its reproach suffering and shame. From whence comes the power, the power you claim to have, is it from the cross?” he asked.
He explained that “it is a cross of sin, shame. Sin was nailed unto me. The reproach of men, the shame. yes, I hanged on that tree, I bore it all”, thou sayest the lord.
Gospel without the cross, its suffering, it’s a shame and reproach, the cross is not a cross of a gain, a cross of riches and a cross of prosperity, it is when you have suffered with God, it is when u have borne the shame and the reproach that you resurrect in his glory and beauty.
He also called on the church to return to her God and the paths of the cross, the Lord reminded the church of the essence of unity and oneness in building a city and nation that is compact together.
The lord reminded church of the need to learn to love one another so there would be no dissimulation amongst his people. For this sayest the Lord, “For together you build, together you lead a nation and her people, but when you have decided to go each your own way, then you open the door for evil to triumph and wickedness to prevail.”
The most high God would want his servants to give this assurance to the church that if the church shall return unto her God, confessing her sins , he the Lord would in no wise cast out, for thus saith the Lord, “if my church shall return unto me, her sins confessing, I will in no wise cast out. My church, thou art my representatives, even in the midst of a nation I have chosen as my inheritance.”
The church should embrace the cross and exalt it in the land and also speak one voice and the people of the shall hear.
“The word of God should be established in the courts of the church and the nation that men shall know that indeed Jesus alone is the only saviour, the soon coming King whose reward is with him”, he said.
