After a recent press conference held by the Nungua Stool under the auspices of Top Kings Enterprise Limited(TKEL) to set the records straight in respect of who the true owners of the Borteyman Lands are, several residents have approached the Stool for regularization.
According to the Operations Director at the Nungua Palace Reindorf Borketey, right after the press conference where all doubts and seeming confusion surrounding the said land was put to rest, many property owners and residents have rushed to the King’s palace at Nungua for regularization and proper documentation.
He stated that “we showed to the whole Ghana during our press conference that we are the rightful owners based on a Supreme Court judgment which went in our favor thereby putting a 22-year litigations to rest”.
“Am sure it is by this show of superiority in terms of the Supreme Court judgment in our favor that made the residents realized the need to do the regularization with us… and we are by this publication urging all those who haven’t yet come for regularization to do so in their own interest”, he stressed.
A little background shows that there had been a case where Top Kings was dragged into a protracted litigation by Empire Builders spanning a period of 22years from the High Court through to the Supreme Court with Empire Builders losing at each stage of the litigation.
Not satisfied with the outcome of the Supreme Court’s decision, Empire Builders commenced a fresh action at a High Court at Adenta against Top Kings Enterprise in 2021 alleging that Top Kings is taking land not covered by the Supreme Court judgment in 2020 that went in favor of Top Kings. The Adenta High Court Suit too was also dismissed and they later proceeded to the Appeals Court where they suffered the same fate.
