Under NPP: Massive Development Hits Upper Denkyira West

The chiefs, elders, opinion leaders and people within the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central region have commended the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo-led NPP administration for the execution of some key developmental projects within most of the communities within the district, less than two years in office. 

It is evident that most communities in the district have witnessed a   number of developmental projects from the current government whereas plans are far advanced for more in the coming years.

In an exclusive interview with the District Chief Executive for Upper Denkyira West, Mr. Agyeman Asiedu, he expressed gratitude to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, for the trust reposed in him to nominate him to be his representative in the area.

According to him for his almost 7 months in office as DCE for Upper Denkyira West, he inherited the Senior Assembly Staffs quarters at the window level and has done it and is currently accommodating some senior staffs which the upper floor is also witnessing completion alongside the junior staffs quarters which has partially be complete d and will soon see its fullest completion.

Mr Agyeman Asiedu hinted also that the Assembly’s transit quarters meant for officials who come from outside the district on official duties is also in shape to avoid renting of hotels at the expense of the assembly.

He further noted that a 3-units classroom block with an office and store for the Amenase D/A primary schools funded through the District Assembly Common Fund, has fully been completed to help address pupils intake, another 3 units classroom block with an office and a store at Bethlehem, for the T. I. Ahmadiya D/A primary schools is almost in its completion stage.

 

The DCE said that the Denkyira Dominase market which has been on the drawing board for the past 12 years has now been built with 50 separate sheds which is almost 98% complete funded through the Mineral Royalties will go a long way to assist market women to sell their items and farmers also to display their farm produces for sale.

 

Mr. Agyeman Asiedu further stated that a construction of a 6-seater WC institutional latrine for male and female for the Bremen St. Mary,s  Anglican primary schools is almost completed to replace the dilapidated one which is out of use.

The DCE said he has been able to secure 500 dual desks under his closed to 7 months in office to the District Education Directorate which has started been supplied to basic schools within the district.

He said this is the first in history under his tenure of office since the creation of the Upper Denkyira West district that Mineral Royalties that comes would be used well for projects that will benefit the entire district, and a typical example is the ongoing construction of the ultramodern Anyanfuri Lorry park with lockable stores which will go a long way to help the people of the district and also help to generate revenue for the assembly when fully completed.

 

The Upper Denkyira West DCE hinted that the District Priority Hospital for the Central region was fully awarded to Upper Denkyira West which he believes is a welcome news to the chiefs and people in the entire district.

He said he recently presented a Nissan Navara double cabin pick up to the district police command to be used to combat criminal activities within the entire district, and expressed concerned about the 3 major police stations within the district which operates under Upper Denkyira East municipality, which Mr Agyeman Asiedu appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to do something about it.

The DCE for Upper Denkyira West also averred that his outfit had secured a vast land at Diaso, the district capital for the construction of an ultramodern Diaso market.

On sanitation, the assembly has been able to secure 7. 2 acres of land as land filled site whist the assembly has partnered World Vision to collaborate effectively to put up toilet facilities to help address open defecations.
