One of the ardent critics of the Nana Akufo-Addo led government, Dr Richard Amoako-Baah, has expressed doubt about former President John Dramani Mahama‘s ability to adeptly handle the affairs of this country.
The Political Science Lecturer asserted that “Personally, I don’t agree with him (Akufo-Addo) on many things but Mahama can’t govern efficiently and it’s not because of politics; he just can’t do it. Nana Addo should be allowed to continue; he’s the only one who can.”
Speaking in interview with Accra-based Neat FM, Dr. Amoako-Baah said he believes a vote for former president Mahama and the NDC would be equivalent to taking the country backwards.
Even though he has been President before, Dr Amoako-Baah opines the economy was in bad shape with continuous power outages (dumsor) under his (Mahama) tenure, adding that “Yes, things didn’t go exactly how you wanted in Akufo-Addo’s government; a lot of disgruntled people but that doesn’t mean you vote against the ruling party.”
He also stated that though the ground is not good for the political parties, it is worst for the NDC than it is for the NPP. “I am asking a question. So why is that of all the people in the NDC, the party decided to for President Mahama who has been president before and performed abysmally, Dr. Baah quizzed, and said the answered is very simple; he (Mahama) has the money but where did he get the money.
