The Family of Sherita Mantey is pleading with the Inspector General of Police,( IGP), George Akufo Dampare, to arrest the owners and managers of Wang Heng Sol Cement factory for destroying her life through a car crash and neglecting her in the process.
Sherita Mantey had one of her legs amputated and the other leg dysfunctional when one of the trucks being used by the Cement manufacturing company to distribute its products lost its breaks and run over her in the process at Asutsuare in the Greater Accra n Region in 2018.She was then weeding and clearing filth in front of the family house when the incident happened leading to her disability.
The company, according to information only took charge of the initial hospital bills of the young lady after the crash and never cared about her again since December 2018.
Several efforts and attempts made by the family to meet the management of the Wang Heng Sol Cement Factory and get them to further support the healthcare and health needs of the 27 year old young woman have been fruitless due to their refusal to cooperate.
Currently Madam Mantey is seriously in need of a sum of ten thousand (10,000) cedis to undergo a surgery but the management of the company refusing to provide the money.
The company is said to be running away from it responsibility. They have been playing a game of hide and seek with the family if the victim.
A visit to the residence of the amputated lady brought to attention the numerous challenges When this reporter visited the home of the worried amputated lady, he realised the lady was in financial and social challenges as she depends on her old and unemployed mother to provide her with all needs including food , drugs and money for hospital bills.
In an interview with the New Crusading Guide, Sherita Mantey a former student of the Aviation school, said “The Sol Cement factory after helping pay my initial medical bills stopped visiting me at the hospital. After I was initially discharged from the Hospital the even refused to visit me at home, none of its management team has stepped foot in my house to visit me since 2018’.
According to Sherita Mantey, she was in 2018 clearing a path that leads to their house at Asutsuare junction when the truck fully loaded with Sol cement failed break and crashed her.
Based on the rate of injury and financial constraints, she had to stop schooling to seek medical attention.
“I used to depend on my friends for food and drugs but they have all neglected me now. They have stopped aiding me for the past two years” she stated.
Madam Mantey, who happens to be the only child of her parent, disclosed that people ignore her whenever she approached them for help.
She said no insurance package has been given to her since 2018, as the case is still pending at the law Court.
All efforts made by this reporter to hear the side of the management of the Wang Heng Sol cement factory at the time of filling this story has not been in successful.
