The Deputy Minister of Communication who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya West Constituency in the Central Region, Nenyi George Andah, has stated he was voted into power to served and change the lives of his constituent but not to enrich himself.
According to him, the people of Awutu Senya West voted for him to make a difference in their lives in the way of elevating them from poverty.
In an interview, he expressed his gratitude to cooperate organizations showing interest in Awutu Senya west by supporting him to achieved all his aims.
George Andah disclosed this at Awutu Breku when he commissioned two units ultra-modern Kindergarten school block for Awutu Breku Roman School in partnership with partnership of imperial Homes and also donated 28 sewing machines to 28 people who have graduated from skill training and additional Ghc1,000 each to all the graduants as seed money to start up their business.
He also said they lobbied to ensure that one out of the ten classroom facilities are completed for the community and expressed satisfaction that Awutu Senya West has its share of the facilities.
According to him, the structure is a modern facility which is child friendly and it adds up to efforts of transforming the District.
He revealed that he, together with Ato Biney he stared with one district one factory and established modern block factory in Awutu Breku where people have been employed to work. The idea, he said, is to add value to local materials.
Touching on the donation of 28 sewing machines to 28 people who have graduated from skill training, he averred that in next couple of months, the beneficiaries will be assessed on what they have been able to do with the seed money given to them, the number of people they have been able to employ and the impact they are making in the lives of others.
“There is more economic empowerment in Awutu Senya West and we are going to exploit all these avenues so that we will be able to assist our people with their livelihoods,” he said.
He charged the people to develop a maintenance culture and urged them to carry out routine arrangements for the structure to ensure its long lifespan.
The District Chief Executive for Awutu Senya west Stephen Kwame Quaye also charged workers of the district Assembly and teachers who have birth to new born babies to take advantage of the new kindergarten block enrolled them in the school to avoid lateness.
Furthermore, Mr. Felix Kpoha who received the keys from the MP and spoke on behalf of the District Education Director pledged to make good use of the school block by maintaining it well to last for long.
