Just when the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, confession that some big men within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) asked him to destroy ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, was settling in, it appears his startling revelation burrowed through a syndicate tasked to destroy the undercover journalist and it is producing smoking guns.
A kingpin of a social media syndicate (name withheld) has made shocking confession that from 5am to 10pm each day, their job is to launch withering attacks on people they consider critical of the government and ills of society, in other to get paid at the end of every month.
The leader who called into our office last Monday to make the confession revealed that they number bout thirty (30) but that since Hon. Kennedy Agyapong’s shocking revelation, their lid was blown and many of them resigned, including the one who called the office.
Their modus operandi, he intoned, is to create fake social media accounts only to monitor their target’s wall and immediately the target posts anything on his or her wall they spring into action. They would insult with all manner of unprintable words and hurl all manner of conscience-soothing false allegations against the targets.
“We were paid to destroy Anas, we were the same people that attacked Manasseh Awuni. Now I am out of the group but the next target is Umaru Sanda, and Mabel Aku Baneseh. But the Anas fight was tough because he wasn’t fighting back and people rather fought for him. When it happens that way you can’t predict where the next blow to you would be coming from so we gave up,” he told this paper on the telephone.
As far as social media is concerned, John Asiedu (not his real name) revealed that they only get problem from citinewsroom.com, myjoyonline.com and sometimes Ghanaweb, in that no sooner had they succeeded in infiltrating social media with their falsity than they also counter with the accurate report on situations.
They prices, according to the leader ranges from GH¢50 a day to GH¢250, depending what job was to be done.
“In the Anas case for instance, he said, “we were taking GH¢250 because we created a lot of fake accounts and also managed to push it into some of the gullible mainstream media. That why we were disappointed Kennedy Agyapong confessed that some NPP bigwigs contacted him to defend the party and attack Anas”.
Recall that the Assin Central MP disclosed that after strongly defending the party in the face of the Number 12 investigative piece, some members of the party have made it a point to embarrass and destroy his reputation.
He was addressing his constituents when he said that he would not seek a re-election due to how the NPP was embarrassing him after he was used to destroy Anas and the Tiger Eye PI firm.
