The Annor We Royal Family of Prampram led by Numo Samuel K. Abbey, Numo Ebenezer Tetteh Djan Abbey and Numo Daniel Annerty Abbey, have warned that the Kingmakers of the Royal Family have not installed a new Paramount Chief for the Prampram Traditional Area since 2015.
According to them, the Annor We Royal Family of Prampram which comprises Abbey/ Doku Mansoro We, Tetteh Djan/ Larbi Agbo We and Kwesi Opletu We, since the death of Nene Tetteh Djan III, have not installed a new chief to lead the affairs of the Area.
In a Press Release issued by the Royal Family, they averred that although there has not been any customary installation of a new Chief for the Prampram Traditional Area, one Michael Quarcoopome Parker has been parading himself as Paramount chief under the Stool name Nene Tetteh Wakah III.
The Family however indicated that, the said Michael Quarcoopome Parker is a “self-acclaimed” chief who must not be accorded such recognition as a Paramount chief of the Area.
“Since the demise of Nene Tetteh Djan III there has been no Paramount chief in Prampram, the General Public is therefore advised to desist from doing anything with this self-acclaimed chief that can be business etc.
The Kingmakers of Annor We Royal Family is informing the General Public once again that, if you failed to comply with this and went on to do something with this self-stylish chief, you do so on your own risk,” the Family indicated.
It would be recall that since the demise of the late chief, there have been controversies over who is the rightful chief to be installed next.
Michael Quarcoopome Parker however emerged, claiming right to the Stool.
Meanwhile, the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs (GARHC) in one of its responses to the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, indicated that Michael Quarcoopome Parker who was purportedly installed as the Chief of Prampram did not pass through the due processes of selection, nomination and installation hence his position cannot be recognized as such.
The Annor We Royal Family stated clearly that after the death of the previous chief, Nene Tetteh Djan III, certain unauthorized persons have comprised themselves into kingmakers without any authority to install a new Paramount Chief who according to them is not a member of the Royal Family.
The family also stressed that the three accredited kingmakers, Abbey/Doku Mansro We, Tetteh Djan/Larbi Agbo We and Kwei Opleitu Waka We, have strongly opposed the attempt to install a new paramount chief without authority but have been met with brutalities, even though Michael Quarcoopome Parker did not satisfy all the royal and customary requirements.
The Family is thus urging the general public to desist from doing any business with Michael Quarcoopome Parker who has no locus as the Paramount chief of Prampram Traditional Area.
