The Students Representative Council of the Africa University College of Communication (AUCC), as part of its SRC Week Celebration, are inviting all Alumni to the first ever Home Coming event slated for tomorrow, Saturday 14th August, 2021, at the school’s premises in Adabraka.
The council started that the weeklong celebration commenced with a cleanup exercise in the school and the Adabraka Community in Accra, on Saturday before the launch on Monday, 9th August, this year.
There was a Women Empowerment Forum on Tuesday. The women continued to have the better part of the event with training on cosmetology, fashion and soap making. There were also free services for students on makeup, massage, facial and nail treatments among others.
The Climax of the SRC Week Celebration is the Alumni Home Coming on Saturday at the forecourt of the school. The events earmarked for the occasion include games in the afternoon and a Musical Concert with Wendy Shay, Praye, Nana Boroo, D Cryme and a host of other top artiste to mount the stage.
There will also be free medical screening. The screening would include the regular screens by Havan Millennium Specialist Hospital from Adjiringanor, breast cancer and Eye screening by the Muadlokko Foundation and Becks Glaucoma Foundation.
Speaking to the SRC President Michael Kofi Oduro, he explained that the homecoming was to help bring the alumni of the institution together for a greater and stronger AUCC.
“The school has produced a number of great personalities in the political and communication landscape but we only hear the names but don’t get the opportunity for them to interact and impact the young ones. We believe that it is important to bring our alumni home as we warm ourselves up for a 20th anniversary celebration next year. This is the first to bring the great personalities that have gone through the system together to build a better and stronger union”.
The event is expected to start from 11am through to midnight.
